CS 154 Laboratory Exercise 1

This laboratory exercise aims to provide students with a better understanding of networking media. Students are required to produce working Category 5 UTP patch cables in both straight and cross configurations.

1. Obtains one (1) meter CAT5 UTP cable and two (2) RJ45 Connectors
2. Crip the Connectors to the cable in order to produce a patch cable
3. Present the finish patch cable to the instructor for checking
4. For every mistake there students maximum possible score will be divided by 2
5. Each student has a maximum of four (4) tries
6. Successfully completed works can obtain a maximum of ten (10) points

• Cross Cables (WO/O/WG/B/WB/G/WBr/Br - WG/G/WO/B/WB/O/WBr/Br)
